Seminar and reporting contest are free and open to students at the Cronkite School of Journalism and other J-schools in the Southwest!

 

Student reporters, you can win a trip abroad! Biotech University is coming to Arizona State, giving journalism students the chance to win $10,000 in prizes, including scholarships--or a grand-prize trip to the World Food Congress of Food Science and Technology, to be held August 5-9 in Parana State, Brazil!

 

Biotech U is a seminar designed to introduce students to the emerging science of biotechnology by experts in the field. In the month following the seminar, students will have the chance to compete for prizes in the Biotech University Reporting Contest.

 

At Biotech U, experts will explain what biotechnology is, give hands-on demonstrations of how it's done and focus on the scientific, business and political issues surrounding the science. Included will be a debate on the pros and cons of biotechnology.

 

Attendance at the seminar is free, but advance registration is required.
